The Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket is a popular offer enabling unlimited travel on regional trains on all routes within the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, and even beyond its borders. One ticket is enough to get on and off as often as you like for several days, visit Lower Silesia’s most important attractions and spend time with family or friends while enjoying the sunny weather. You can also travel to Nowa Sól and Zielona Góra in Lubusz Voivodeship, as well as to towns in Greater Poland Voivodeship served by Koleje Dolnośląskie trains.

During this year’s May Day weekend, the ticket will be valid from Wednesday, April 30, at 6:00 p.m. until Monday, May 5, at 6:00 a.m. That means several days of completely unrestricted travel—without stress or a journey limit.

“Lower Silesia is Poland’s infrastructure heart, and many tourist attractions can be reached by train in the white-and-yellow livery,” says Paweł Gancarz, marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Discovering the charms of Lower Silesia faster

This is not the first time in 2025 that the ticket’s validity period has been extended—earlier, a similar offer was available during the Easter holiday period.

“We are fully aware that the May Day weekend is one of the favorite times for short trips. That is why we are extending the validity of the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket until Monday morning, so that everyone has a chance to take full advantage of this exceptional offer,” says Damian Stawikowski, president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.

It is worth taking advantage of this opportunity, because KD currently operates the fastest regional trains in Poland. Shorter journey times make it possible to quickly reach even the most remote corners of Lower Silesia, which offer numerous attractions for all tourists. For example, from Wrocław you can travel to Kłodzko in just over an hour, while Kudowa-Zdrój takes approximately two hours. What is worth seeing in the Kłodzko Valley? The market square, the Gothic Bridge over the Młynówka and the fortress in Kłodzko, the Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki-Zdrój and the Arboretum in Lądek-Zdrój. And that is only part of the attractions.

Importantly, the railway network will be expanded further over the coming years, including with connections to Stronie Śląskie and the aforementioned Lądek-Zdrój. For now, however, you can already get there by bus in KD’s livery as part of the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket.

“We see enormous interest in developing rail connections in the region. KD trains will soon travel even farther, and the Kłodzko Valley will become accessible to travelers in an even more convenient way. It is worth visiting because it offers picturesque spa towns and mountain trails of varying difficulty. All of this is within easy reach,” announces Michał Rado, deputy marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, responsible, among other things, for railways.

Important information for passengers traveling with bicycles

During the May Day weekend, many passengers also set out with bicycles. The KD Ryszard Szurkowski train, running from Wrocław Główny to Milicz (departure at 9:44 a.m., return at 5:15 p.m.), is especially popular among cyclists. This train has been specially adapted to carry a larger number of bicycles. It should be noted, however, that during long weekends and on days with heavy traffic, there may not be enough space for bicycles—either on trains or replacement buses. If no space is available, the conductor team has the right to refuse to take a bicycle on board.

“Cyclists are an important group of our passengers, and we try to accommodate their needs. However, due to limited space and the high popularity of cycling, especially during long weekends, we ask for understanding and appropriate travel planning,” emphasizes Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.

If we want to travel with a bicycle using the Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket, we must purchase an additional ticket for transporting the bicycle—either for each journey or a one-day ticket for each day on which we want to travel by Koleje Dolnośląskie train with our bicycle.

Travel comfortably around Lower Silesia

In 2025, Koleje Dolnośląskie will cover as many as 15 million kilometers on the rails. In 2024, it carried more than 22 million passengers. The white-and-yellow trains operate not only in Lower Silesia—we can also travel on them to Germany, the Czech Republic and selected towns in Lubusz and Greater Poland voivodeships. Tickets and the promotional Lower Silesian Weekend Ticket can be purchased on kolejedolnoslaskie.pl, at ticket offices and in popular mobile applications such as Koleo.
