Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław conducted routine inspections in shops, tobacco-product outlets and on the roads of Lower Silesia. They seized 6,895 illegal e-cigarettes worth PLN 666,000.
– On the A4 motorway in the direction of Legnica, while searching a van, officers found and seized a considerable quantity of liquids for electronic cigarettes without the required excise-duty markings. The total volume of the seized substances was 147,530 ml (6,188 units), worth PLN 500,000 – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian National Revenue Administration. – The driver and passenger admitted possessing the illegal goods and gave explanations. They were charged with handling excise-duty goods.
She adds: – At tobacco-product and e-cigarette sales outlets, officers seized 707 illegal e-cigarettes worth PLN 166,000.
The seized e-cigarettes will undergo laboratory testing for prohibited substances.
