Police officers from Bolesławiec detained a man who ignored a restraining order and harassed the victim again, directing insults at her. – After receiving information that the man was not complying with the prosecutor’s ban on contacting or approaching his former partner, officers of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec took steps to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention – explains asp. szt. Monika Kaleta of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

She adds: – The police officers, prosecutor and judge had no doubt that the man’s conduct required at least temporary detention.

The 35-year-old was detained again in connection with harassing his former partner for several months. The spokesperson said: – After their relationship ended, the man, apparently unable to accept it, verbally abused the woman, threatened to take her life, persistently called her day and night, and harassed her not only at her home.

The suspect is a repeat offender. He had previously been convicted of similar crimes, though against another woman.

The officers sum up:

The court had no doubt that the measure previously imposed by the prosecutor was insufficient at this point, so the Bolesławiec resident was remanded in custody for two months. Because he acted as a repeat offender, he could face up to 12 years in prison for the crimes committed.
