The film titled “What Do Priests Do When They Take Off Their Cassocks” received an award in this year’s competition for the best video reports. The story about priests dating men was nominated for the award of the year in the video category.
The report tells the story of Catholic priests from the Diocese of Legnica (associated with Bolesławiec) who arrange intimate meetings with other men on dating websites.
This is already the second consecutive award for istotne.pl from journalists from across Poland. A year ago, another report by Krzysztof Gwizdała and Grażyna Hanaf was also nominated.
The Association of Local Newspapers (SGL) brings together several dozen publishers of independent local newspapers. Since 2008, SGL has organized a competition for the best journalistic materials. Over the years, “SGL Local Press” has become the most prestigious nationwide competition for Polish local newspapers. The initiative is open to all independent local newspapers from Poland, which are invited to participate.
The submitted works are assessed by journalists with extensive professional experience. In successive editions of the competition, the jury was chaired by: Piotr Najsztub, Tomasz Wróblewski, Teresa Torańska, Igor Janke, Anna Marszałek and Mariusz Szczygieł.
