With great sadness, we announce that the wonderful artist, a warm and modest person, has departed for eternal concerts – Zofia Michalska.
The center adds:
Zofia Michalska was a well-known figure in the artistic community of our region. Since the 1960s, she had helped shape the musical culture of Bolesławiec and played 11 instruments (mandolin, guitar, banjo, mandola, double bass, accordion, piano, keyboard, drums, recorder and saxophone). She began her professional career in 1962 as an instructor at the PKS workplace community center in Bolesławiec. For many years, she worked at the Bolesławiec MDK, the Preschool Education Study Center, the Teacher Training Study Center and Teacher Training College in Bolesławiec, the State First-Degree Music School, and the Municipal Culture and Sport Center in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn.
Mrs. Zofia led many ensembles with which she proudly performed at numerous regional and nationwide reviews, achieving top places. These ensembles included: “Vibrato” – a mandolin ensemble; “Michałki” – a boys’ band; “Subito” – a mandolinist ensemble; she led the band of the “Mały Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble and was the choir director of the “Jutrzenka” ensemble.
