A serious incident took place at night in Wołów County. Several hooligans, football supporters of an antagonistic club from Lubin, attacked two fans returning from a match. The Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters:

Initially, the perpetrators drove two cars up to the victims intending to steal their club colours (shirts, scarves and a pennant). Ultimately, however, they beat the men and robbed them of their personal belongings. Some of the perpetrators were wearing balaclavas during the attack to make identification more difficult.

Wrocław officers: – However, their intentions came to nothing, as detectives quickly established the details of the robbery and, working with police officers from Lubin and the Department for Combating Football Hooligan Crime of the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters, arrested several people responsible for the offences.

They added: – It should be added that the victims of the robbery were young men with no previous convictions. They are fans who support their favourite team in a rational manner, in keeping with the spirit of sport.

They also announced:

The police will respond firmly every time to offences committed by football hooligans and will pursue those responsible.

The men detained in this case are residents of two counties in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. They could face up to 15 years in prison.
