Workshops on structural disaster response, organized by the USAR POLAND Specialist Search and Rescue Group from Poznań, were held in the area of Pstrąże, a “ghost town.” 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów:

The training involved carrying out practical exercises in a rubble site in cooperation with WSP Świętoszów firefighters and USAR group rescuers.

The USAR Poland Group is a rescue team (module) intended to search for living people beneath rubble in urban areas, and is also used for operations outside the country. Participating in training with entities that are part of the National Rescue and Firefighting System is an element of implementing the Annual Advanced Training Plan of the Military Fire Service.

As part of the USAR Poland module’s operations, members of SGPR Poznań conducted rescue operations following earthquakes in Haiti (2010), Nepal (2015) and Turkey (2023), as well as after the explosion in Beirut (2020). In addition, officers from SGPR Poznań supported Polish firefighters during fires in Sweden in 2018 and in Greece in 2021 and 2023.
