The most important festival in Bolesławiec traditionally took place on the penultimate weekend of August. In 2013–2014, this was the fourth weekend of the month; in later years, it sometimes happened that the penultimate weekend of August coincided only with the third week of the month.

– It is the third weekend of August – says Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for the City Hall. – And there will be no change, and it is (the change in the festival date – ed.) at the insistent request of the ceramicists (from the Ceramic Brotherhood – ed.). They really wanted the festival to overlap with that day off, or such a long weekend. This is what Kornel Filipowicz told us – the spokesperson explains.

During the conversation, Agnieszka Gergont did not hide her outrage that in the headline of the article “Ceramic Festival Rescheduled This Year”, we used the term “rescheduled.” She believed that the Ceramic Festival had always taken place on the third weekend of August, and only after we explained that this was untrue did she acquaint herself with the facts. She also explained how a senior journalist from bolecinfo had interpreted the information she provided.

– Kazimierz Marczewski called me, but I did not tell him about disinformation – the spokesperson explains. – He was the one saying that he had misinformed everyone, because he said that (the festival takes place – ed.) on the third weekend. I replied that he had been right to say that it was the third weekend – the spokesperson added.
