On the website of the Civic Coalition’s branch in Nowogrodziec, Leszek Socha publishes his video feuilletons. In them, he discusses, among other things, the branch’s efforts to carry out the legislative process for a bill on public falsehoods and official accountability.

– It is absolutely necessary to work toward introducing a bill on public falsehoods and official accountability, argues Leszek Socha. – It cannot be that we work hard while someone takes what we produce simply because they can. And they seem to believe they are above punishment. Unfortunately, this impunity is largely a fact. Polish law is so distorted that politicians get away with economic crimes. People from the previous government involved in appropriating public funds, that is, money from the state budget, use various tactics to divert attention from themselves and win public sympathy: I am not guilty; this is a witch hunt. An economic criminal never acts alone. It is always a group of people who agree to it and knowingly appropriate public property in various forms. Whether it is the property of local governments, the State Treasury or a company. The spectacle currently taking place on the national political stage, concerning the accountability of the previous government by the current one, shows that the rule of law in Poland must be repaired immediately, says Socha.

In our pages, we will publish excerpts from the bills, popularize them, encourage readers to discuss them and provide media coverage of their submission to the Sejm.
