We wrote about the matter in the article: Dispute over the distribution of money for sport. Some clubs protest and want a new competition. In a poll under that report, internet users said that the distribution of money for sport in the city was unfair (89% of votes in the poll).
The City Hall argues that the criteria for awarding clubs funds for their activities are clear and fair, while the funds themselves are limited—only PLN 400,000. This is a drop in the ocean of needs, as the offers submitted to the office amounted to almost one and a half million.
Therefore, out of the many offers, only those that received the highest score in terms of the number of children participating in training were selected. Each positively assessed and subsidized offer described the involvement of between 150 and 250 children. Akademia Badmintona has approximately twenty of them, according to the information provided at the February session during the deputy mayor’s speech.
At the Bolesławiec City Council session in February 2025, the deputy mayor spoke about the inspection of money spent by Akademia Badmintona.
“After the inspection, in which one of the clubs received 15,000, the report is very short: 1,400 shuttlecocks were bought for 13,000 and five rackets for 2,000. (That is for 19 participants—a voice from the room)—he said at the session Robert Rzepnicki. “Is this a sports club’s report? What does this demonstrate? We can answer that ourselves. We acted within the limits of the applicable law, in accordance with the Act on Public Benefit Activity and Volunteerism. We did nothing wrong. What is being said about us on the Internet and about the members of the committee is not entirely true. The Social Affairs Department is currently paralyzed. There are claims and grievances, and employees have also been threatened,” the deputy mayor explained at the session.
The president of Akademia Badmintona summed up Deputy Mayor Rzepnicki’s statement at the session in strong terms:
(…) what can you expect from people (officials handling sports grants—editor’s note), (…). An IQ level higher than that of an Australian shepherd? (…)

Maciej Mazur also explained on social media that the report had been approved by the supervising official, Krzysztof Jakubczyc, and that the City Hall deemed the cost settlement correct. The president is said to have evidence of this in the form of email correspondence with the office.
“As for the settlement and the fact that we settled it very briefly (unfortunately, we are unable to write at greater length about the things we purchased), it was only shuttlecocks and five rackets. There was not enough for more,” president Maciej Mazur explained on Facebook. “We can of course add the purchases we made with the club’s money, but they were not part of the task, and there would have been four times as much as what the City provided. Then it would have been longer,” Mazur added.
