Update

As established by officers from Bolesławiec, the entire incident was caused by a 30-year-old BMW driver, a German citizen. He rear-ended a Volkswagen, which hit another VW. The latter then rear-ended an Audi, which in turn collided with a Mercedes.

The German citizen was fined PLN 1,100.

The incident occurred on February 23, at approximately 3:00 p.m., on the A4 motorway, between kilometres 56 and 57, in the direction of the border. We managed to establish that five passenger cars collided there. Fortunately, no one suffered more serious injuries.

Emergency services are at the scene. Police are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident. Officers are appealing for reason and caution on the road.
