The headteacher of the school in Nowogrodziec, Urszula Troszczak-Krzywdzińska, reported that on February 4, a man armed with a knife entered the school grounds.

“The incident was reported to the police,” says the police spokesperson in Bolesławiec. “We know who this person is. The incident occurred during the winter break on February 4 after 4:00 p.m. The man entered the area near the school and threw a knife at a tree. The offender was charged with an offense, and the case was referred to court,” adds Anna Kublik-Rościszewska.

As mayor Joanna Świder reports, the gates leading onto the school grounds have been closed since February 5 to prevent such an incident from happening again.

“The person entered the school grounds without being disturbed because all the gates, which people had been fighting for half a year, were open,” Joanna Śwder comments. “Fortunately, it was during the winter break, and the person was playing by throwing a knife at a tree trunk. However, the panic that arose after the headteacher shared the information, the phone calls and inquiries—I alone know how many there were. The police questioned the person and charged them with damaging greenery,” the mayor adds.
