Mrs Ewelina, Jakub’s mother:

The tax-filing period has begun. As every year, I will be happy to file PIT-37 returns for people who, for various reasons, do not do it themselves, in exchange for 1.5% of their tax or a donation toward our son’s therapy and treatment. Please contact me at 783 184 516 – Ewelina.

If any of you are able to display a poster or leave leaflets about the 1.5% tax collection at your company, we can deliver them – we would be enormously grateful for every form of help.

About Jakub

Jakub is seven years old and has been diagnosed with early-childhood autism accompanied by pervasive speech and psychomotor development disorders, intellectual disability and sensory integration disorder. A severe food and inhalant allergy requires a restrictive diet. Jakub also struggles with childhood asthma and immune system disorders.

The boy’s mother:

But the greatest difficulties Jakub faces are precisely the result of autism and intellectual disability. At the age of seven, our son’s developmental level is roughly that of a three- or four-year-old child. Every day brings challenges that are ordinary everyday experiences for other children.

Children on the autism spectrum face a world that is not adapted to them and experience sensory overload much more intensely. For our son, strong stimuli include all kinds of illuminated lamps, neon signs, screens, ATMs, electronic clocks, price scanners in shops, the radio in the car, at the clinic, at school... It is so intense that Kuba may break free, hit or pinch someone just to reach the stimulus – to see it and further stimulate his sight and hearing. An ordinary walk or trip to the shop is very difficult for him.

Kuba’s ability to cope with stressors—noise, difficulty understanding situations, and unpleasant or intense emotions—is not developing properly. Unable to cope with them, he often becomes extremely aggressive, posing a danger to people nearby. At school, the noise and number of stimuli quickly tire him, and his nervous system becomes overloaded. Individual work with a teacher is the best solution for him, but it does not solve the problem, as the child needs contact with peers.

Mrs Ewelina and Mr Marcin, Jakub’s parents:

The cognitive, emotional and social development of a child on the autism spectrum requires constant, regular therapy. That is why Jakub has been receiving neurological speech therapy continuously for six years and requires sensory integration classes, physiotherapy, support from a psychologist and special education teacher, as well as Social Skills Training. In addition, he remains under the regular care of a neurologist, psychiatrist and allergist. Most of these are private appointments. Depending on the specialist, therapy costs between PLN 150 and 180 per 45-minute session. Travel, medication, medical appointments and diet are additional costs.

This is financed thanks to the support of people who donate their 1.5% tax to Kuba. Therefore, once again, thanks to the great kindness and courtesy of the editorial team of istotne.pl, we would like to ask you to help by donating your 1.5% tax toward our son’s therapy and treatment.

And they conclude: – The tax-filing period is a time when we can help without losing anything. Your 1.5% tax is a chance for Kuba to become independent. Thank you in advance for every form of support, whether financial assistance or sharing our story.
