Zespół Szkół Medycznych im. Ludwika Hirszfelda w Bolesławcu

In 1976, the Medical Schools Complex was established. It included: the Medical Nursing Secondary School and the Medical Vocational College – the Psychiatric Nursing Department and the School Hygiene Department.

In 1977, the Medical Secondary School for Working People was established; in 1982, the full-time post-secondary Occupational Therapy College; and in 1983,
the part-time Occupational Therapy College. On October 9, 1987, during a ceremony marking the school's 25th anniversary, it was named after Ludwik Hirszfeld. Hirszfeld's outstanding contributions to medicine, such as the discovery of the Rh factor in blood serum, as well as his work in the Wrocław healthcare service and adherence to the principle Salus aegroti suprema lex esto! (“The health of the sick shall be the highest good!”).

By decision of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the process of phasing out the school began in 1992. Some teachers of general education subjects moved to other schools or retired, and in 1997 the five-year medical secondary schools were completely abolished. During this period, the school's management changed. In 1991, headmistress Maria Kalisz retired. She was succeeded by Grażyna Zbieg, who held the position until 1999 (1991–1998, 2002–2005), and when she was promoted to deputy mayor of Bolesławiec, Anna Duma became her successor (1998–2002).
