In 2008, we reported that Bolesławiec City Hall was planning to revitalise the facility on Chopina Street. In January this year, the city office handed the site over to a company that will adapt the former Cinema Orzeł for the needs of the Cultural Integration Centre. The adaptation is intended not only to bring Orzeł back to life. The building is to become a cultural hub, offering a wide range of artistic activities. Among other things, it will host photography workshops, screenings of independent films and meetings of a film discussion club. An arts café will also open. The aim is for the cinema, which is currently closed, to become a place where Bolesławiec’s cultural life can flourish and where people can spend their free time in an attractive way.
