We spoke with one of the former priests from Bolesławiec about the money received by Catholic clergy during pastoral visits in Bolesławiec.

During house visits, clergy from a medium-sized parish can collect between PLN 150,000 and PLN 180,000.

“People give different amounts. The least is PLN 50. Usually, it is around PLN 100, but there are also older women who save throughout the year and put as much as PLN 1,500 in an envelope,” says one of the former priests from Bolesławiec. “The money is then divided so that one-third goes to the curia, one-third remains in the parish, and the rest is divided among the priests. In the last year of my service in Bolesławiec, I received PLN 20,000 in cash,” the clergyman adds.
