A disgruntled patient wrote to our editorial office, describing what his visit to St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec was like:

Ministers and useful information did not help with the day-to-day functioning of this struggling facility. My brother-in-law received help without stress or queues in Lubań. He had been suffering from lower back pain since Saturday. Our “Leśna Góra” hospital was unable to treat him.

On December 24, the man arrived with severe pain at the emergency department in Bolesławiec, where the Night and Holiday Healthcare office is located. The patient arrived at around 9:00 a.m. and waited for help for more than three hours. He was thirtieth in line. There was no doctor, and he was told to wait. He could not endure the pain.

He returned at 9:00 a.m. on December 25, but was then told that the doctor would not be there or would arrive in no fewer than eight hours. He was advised to seek help elsewhere. He went to Lubań, where he was given assistance, but was clearly told that the patient should have been treated by the Bolesławiec emergency department.

We asked St. Luke’s Hospital for an explanation on December 30, 2024. We are awaiting a response.
