Today, during a sobriety check in the village of Koskowice, officers stopped a Hyundai vehicle at 7:35 a.m. A preliminary breathalyzer test showed that the student was under the influence of alcohol. Further breathalyzer tests showed that the driver had 0.3 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. The man, who was still learning to drive, made no secret of his surprise and told the officers that he had drunk only three beers the day before.

Despite his lack of driving experience, the 31-year-old student committed a serious traffic offense. Officers will also investigate the driving instructor’s responsibility for the intoxicated student.

We remind you that road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Alcohol and other psychoactive substances are absolutely unacceptable behind the wheel. A person driving under the influence of alcohol poses a serious threat on the road. Their visual acuity and ability to judge distances are significantly impaired, reaction time is delayed, concentration is reduced, balance is disturbed and they misjudge their own abilities.
