Officers from the Police Station in Gryfów detained a 45-year-old man who had physically and psychologically abused his partner for 10 years, committing brutal acts of violence in the presence of their children.

Police took immediate action after receiving a report of domestic violence. Their findings showed that the man repeatedly started arguments during which he insulted his partner using vulgar language, pulled her by her clothes, pushed her, beat her all over her body, punched her in the face, strangled her, and restrained her limbs by tying them. During these traumatic events, the couple’s children witnessed the violence, which deepened their trauma.

The evidence gathered by investigators made it possible to charge the man with psychological and physical abuse of a close family member. The court granted the prosecutor’s request and ordered three months of pre-trial detention for the alleged perpetrator. He faces up to five years in prison.
