After the introduction of the “Kamil Act” and the resulting “Standards for the Protection of Minors,” priests may no longer:
- Be alone with a child in isolated circumstances, for example in private parish rooms without a parent or guardian present.
- Organize individual meetings with minors without the express knowledge and consent of their parents or superiors, or multiply or extend such meetings without justification.
- Transport children in private cars without the express consent of their guardians, especially if they would be traveling alone.
- Touch children against their will or inappropriately for the pastoral or educational situation.
- Take photographs or record videos without the child’s consent and the written consent of their parents or legal guardians (except for large groups in public places).
All meetings before the Christmas house visit with underage altar servers or lectors should be organized in official, publicly accessible places prepared for this purpose.
