– The camp began on January 28 – says Damian Tomiak, head of the Youth Firefighting Team operating at the Volunteer Fire Department in Osiecznica. – It was the first winter trip for my trainees. I think all the firefighters are pleased with it.
The young firefighters were able to learn to ski and went down the slopes on snowboards. They also had the opportunity to ride Poland’s highest alpine coaster and go down a snowy inner tube run on a natural snow track. They also toured Szklarska Poręba and the Kamieńczyk Waterfall. In the evenings, they played board games and billiards. – Trips of this kind have a beneficial effect on young people and develop their skills. They teach camaraderie, helpfulness and honesty – Damian emphasizes. – I hope that winter camps will become our tradition.
Damian Tomiak thanks Osiecznica Commune Head Waldemar Nalazek for helping organize the camp.
