On Friday, everyone interested will be able to see the result of work that began on June 26. The new building on the Piastów housing estate, at Gałczyńskiego Street, is the result of the commitment of 60 volunteers who took part in its construction using the self-build system.

Construction using the self-build system is a way of erecting a building in which the investor—that is, the person having it built—takes care of most matters independently. Instead of hiring a construction company, the investor organizes the materials, hires specialists for various tasks, such as bricklayers, electricians and plumbers, and makes sure everything proceeds according to plan.

The building will serve as a place for Jehovah’s Witnesses’ religious meetings. The location of the Kingdom Hall next to Biedronka, the Bolesławianka Housing Cooperative and the Catholic church on Jana Pawła II Street may provide an opportunity for Bolesławiec residents to interact with one another. It may also encourage dialogue between different religious groups.
