On November 18, after 9:00 p.m., the Bolesławiec Police unit received a report about a missing 73-year-old man. “The ill man left his place of residence following a conflict situation, and it was impossible to determine where he was,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska from KPP Bolesławiec.
As the senior was ill and required regular medication, his health or life could have been at risk. Therefore, the commander of the Bolesławiec unit decided that immediate, intensive search operations were necessary.
Police officers were called in for duty on an emergency basis so that as many uniformed officers as possible could search the area for the missing man. A Lwówek police officer with a service dog also joined the nighttime operation.
In one of the housing estates, a patrol from the police station spotted a man whose appearance matched the description of the missing person. After four hours of searching, the 73-year-old was found and placed in the care of medical services.
Temperatures are getting lower, so the lives and health of people staying outside heated places may be at risk. Let us respond when we see people in need of help.
