The prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into the murder of a 24-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra. – Preliminary findings indicate that on November 8, 2024, in the evening, in Jelenia Góra Sobieszów, a 17-year-old man stabbed the victim twice in the neck and then struck him more than 40 times with the weapon on various parts of his body, causing extensive injuries that resulted in the victim’s death – prosecutor Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, reports.
The perpetrator was detained. After being brought to the local district prosecutor’s office, he was charged with murder. He could face life imprisonment.
Spokesperson: – The suspect did not plead guilty to the crime of which he is accused. He gave an explanation. Due to the interests of the investigation, its contents cannot currently be disclosed.
At the request of the District Prosecutor in Jelenia Góra, the court remanded the teenager in temporary custody for three months.

In addition, two other people connected with the incident were detained together with the perpetrator. They are a 17-year-old girl and a 48-year-old man. The prosecutor charged these individuals with aiding the perpetrator after the crime, that is, obstructing criminal proceedings in order for the perpetrator to avoid criminal responsibility – by erasing traces.
The individuals mentioned admitted their guilt and gave explanations. They face up to five years in prison. They were placed under police supervision, banned from leaving the country and prohibited from contacting other suspects.
The spokesperson concluded: – The detention of the murder suspect and the people who helped him erase traces is the result of joint actions by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra and officers of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.
