The expansion of the company’s operating area will also be connected with another important event, namely changing the company’s name to Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji Dolina Bobru sp. z o.o.

Expanding the company’s operations into new areas and municipalities brings many benefits, both for local communities and for the company itself.

– Today, following our previous experience consolidating our company with the Municipality and City of Lwówek Śląski in 2014, and then with the City and Municipality of Wleń in 2020, we are fully convinced that everyone involved in the industry benefits from consolidation – explains president Grzegorz Kozłowski. – Nowadays, especially smaller municipalities with limited sales volumes are unable to meet their own responsibilities for water supply and wastewater collection to an appropriate standard on their own. They simply cannot afford highly specialized staff, equipment and modern technology; their limited water and wastewater sales will not cover these costs. Therefore, they should consider joining larger companies such as ours, which have substantial staffing, technological and equipment capacity that can also be used in smaller municipalities. For the company, consolidation means not only more efficient use of its existing potential, but also makes it possible to spread the company’s operating costs among an even greater number of customers, which consequently reduces the unit costs of 1 m³ of water supplied and wastewater collected throughout the company’s operating area. Ultimately, this benefits not only the company, but also customers in all municipalities, because it is a significant factor limiting increases in water and wastewater prices amid current inflation – adds president Grzegorz Kozłowski.

New logo and new name for PWiK Bolesławiec

– Another equally important decision made by all parties to the consolidation is changing the company’s name from “PWiK w Bolesławcu” to “PWiK Dolina Bobru” with a new logo. We are very pleased with this change because we want our customers, especially those from outside Bolesławiec, to see us not merely as Bolesławiec’s water utility, but as the water utility of all the municipalities and residents we serve, united by the Dolina Bobru. Naturally, the company’s headquarters will remain at 17 Łasicka Street in Bolesławiec, with the same NIP and REGON numbers – explains president Grzegorz Kozłowski.

Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji in Bolesławiec, now operating under its new name, “PWiK Dolina Bobru sp. z o.o.,” is commencing operations and assuming full responsibility for the municipality of Jeżów Sudecki’s statutory duties concerning water supply and wastewater collection as of January 1, 2025.
