The aim of the three-day campaign was to raise funds for holiday assistance for families in need, as well as for people who are single and homeless. More than 60 people collected donations in the town from 11 to 13 March, raising PLN 4,862.
PLN 4,200 was allocated to preparing 140 food parcels (2 kg of sugar, 1 litre of oil, 1 kg of pasta, cocoa, chocolate, pâté, canned meat, chocolate spread, coffee and 1 kg of margarine).
The parcels will be distributed at the Polish Red Cross office from Monday to families selected by schools, upon presentation of vouchers. The remaining amount was allocated to preparing Christmas celebrations for homeless people staying at the Polish Red Cross shelter and night shelter, as well as for people experiencing violence—for more than 45 people in total.
The campaign was supported by students from lower- and upper-secondary schools, as well as children from the Primary School in Raciborowice.
