The Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor’s Office on the case:

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec has opened an investigation into the case of 43-year-old Bolesławiec resident Krystian S., concerning the physical and psychological abuse of his wife and minor child, as well as insulting and violently attacking officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters who intervened against him.

The investigation findings show that, from March 2024 to October 10, 2024, the suspect repeatedly started domestic disputes during which he psychologically and physically abused his wife and 15-year-old child. The perpetrator called them words commonly regarded as offensive and threatened to kill them. He repeatedly pulled the woman by her hair, hit her on the head and face with his hands, and strangled her with a scarf, causing injuries impairing bodily functions for less than 7 days. He also used physical force against the minor child, hitting him all over the body with his hands.

Investigators add:

On October 10, 2024, during another dispute started by the suspect, the injured woman called police officers for help. The officers who arrived at the scene found the suspect there, acting aggressively; he began insulting them with vulgar language. Moreover, in an attempt to prevent them from arresting him, he threatened the officers with death and violently attacked them, striking them in the legs, knees and face with a closed fist. Nevertheless, the officers subdued and arrested him.

After being brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, the perpetrator was charged with abusing his wife and minor child, as well as insulting and violently attacking police officers during and in connection with the performance of their official duties (…). These offenses are punishable by 3 months to 5 years in prison.

The suspect did not plead guilty. He was remanded in custody.


During an intervention concerning domestic abuse, officers from the Patrol and Intervention Unit of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters arrested the aggressor. The officers said: — During the officers’ inquiries, the 43-year-old was vulgar and aggressive. The Bolesławiec resident insulted the police officers and attacked them, throwing punches in an attempt to avoid arrest.

They added: — Based on the information collected, both the police officers and the prosecutor unanimously concluded that the perpetrator of psychological and physical abuse against family members should be isolated from the victims. The evidence confirmed that the 43-year-old had abused the household members for the past 8 months.

The man was charged and then remanded in custody by the court for two months. The suspect faces up to five years in prison.
