Officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica, together with the prosecutor leading the investigation, identified and arrested a man suspected of murder. The arrest took place on October 7. – While searching for the perpetrator, officers followed every lead that could put them on the murderer’s trail. They analyzed and verified various versions of events. They reconstructed the final hours of the 41-year-old’s life – reports Staff Sergeant Jagoda Ekiert, press officer for the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters. – The evidence collected and its meticulous analysis made it possible to identify a suspect in the case.
Let us recall. On September 15, before 10 p.m., the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters received a report about a man lying at a bus stop on Piłsudskiego Street in Legnica. The medical services called to the scene pronounced him dead, most likely as a result of head injuries. The spokeswoman said: – A specialist group of police officers was immediately dispatched to the scene. They secured evidence and established the exact circumstances of the murder. Their activities were supervised by a prosecutor from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica.
She added: – At the same time, preventive-service and criminal investigators carried out a series of activities to identify witnesses to the incident and obtain information necessary to clarify the case. For several days, officers and the prosecutor worked intensively to resolve the case. Witnesses were questioned, and all the information obtained was analyzed very carefully.
Last Thursday, the findings obtained by the police led to the arrest of a young resident of Legnica. He was first presented with a prosecutorial charge and was then remanded in custody by the court.
The man now faces life imprisonment.
