Some time ago, you published information that a passport service point would finally open in Bolesławiec in September. Has anything happened on this matter? The point is still nowhere to be seen.
As istotne.pl was informed by Bartosz Wojciechowski, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian Voivode:
On 22 July 2024, the Lower Silesian Voivode concluded an Agreement with the Mayor of Bolesławiec (Official Journal: No. 1/2024, item 4017) concerning the establishment and operation of the Local Passport Service Point in Bolesławiec.
Pursuant to § 10 of the above-mentioned Agreement, the Local Passport Service Point in Bolesławiec will begin operating no earlier than after the employees working there obtain access certificates for the Passport Document Register (emphasis – istotne.pl).
He added:
On 9 September 2024, the Director General of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office concluded employment contracts with the above-mentioned individuals. The authority then applied for the necessary certificates to work with the Passport Document Register.
From 12 September 2024 to 27 September 2024, the individuals assigned to work at the Local Passport Service Point in Bolesławiec will undergo training at the Passport and Customer Service Department of the Jelenia Góra Branch Office. At the same time, steps are being taken to launch the necessary IT infrastructure.
When will the office open?
The spokesperson said: – The opening of the Local Passport Service Point is planned for the turn of October and November 2024 after the employees complete their training and all the conditions set out in the Agreement are fulfilled, including those concerning the premises, technical infrastructure and IT infrastructure.
