Tonight brought tragic events for the residents of Trzebień, where the embankments on both sides of the Bóbr River ruptured. Their evacuation proved necessary.
A few minutes after midnight, a decision was made to evacuate the residents of Parkoszów and Mostowa and Parkowa Streets in Trzebień. The action was taken because of breaches in the flood embankments on both sides of the Bóbr River. The situation posed a direct threat to the lives and health of the people staying there. The water was spreading at astonishing speed, reaching further properties and flooding more homes.
Police officers and other emergency services present at the scene helped evacuate 120 people from 32 households. The People's House in Trzebień and the School and Preschool Complex in Trzebień were made available to them. Unfortunately, not all residents of the area in question cooperated with the uniformed officers, which led to additional action being taken this morning. It proved necessary to evacuate a person who had initially refused the assistance offered..
