The latest timetable adjustment takes into account disruptions resulting from numerous investments being carried out on Lower Silesian railway tracks by the infrastructure owner, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe.
Kunice stop under construction, replacement bus service on the Strzelin–Lichkov section
Construction of a railway stop has begun in Kunice near Legnica. – This involves changes to train services on the popular Legnica–Wrocław line. They are caused by construction work and the closure of one of the tracks. From 7 September to 11 October, trains will run in both directions on a nine-kilometre section using a single track – says Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
One of the largest closures in the history of Koleje Dolnośląskie will take place on line D9 Wrocław Główny–Lichkov. From 1 September to 16 October, replacement bus services will operate on the Strzelin–Lichkov section in three variants:
- Variant I – express bus service on the Strzelin–Kłodzko Miasto–Międzylesie/Lichkov route (no stops between Strzelin and Kłodzko).
- Variant II – bus service on the Strzelin–Kłodzko Miasto route (stopping at all stations except Ławica and Kłodzko Główne).
- Variant III – minibus service on the Kłodzko Miasto–Ławica route.
Disruptions on the Rokitki–Leszno Górne section
Another line closure concerns the Rokitki–Leszno Górne section. Passengers will use a replacement bus service running from Chojnów station towards Leszno Górne and beyond; the same applies in the opposite direction after travelling along the Legnica–Chojnów section by trains operating on the Legnica–Bolesławiec and Legnica–Chocianów sections. Passengers travelling no farther than Wierzbowa Śląska station will use replacement buses departing from Chojnów or Chocianów stations.
Passengers travelling from Legnica to Kłodzko must still expect disruptions. Until 15 October, replacement buses will operate on the Jawor–Rogoźnica section. Meanwhile, from 18 to 20 October, buses will replace trains on the Rogoźnica–Strzegom section, and from 22 to 25 October on the Legnica–Jawor section.
Train service to Trzebnica resumes, new request stops
Dolnośląska Służba Dróg i Kolei completed renovation work on the Wrocław Psie Pole–Trzebnica section on schedule. As a result, replacement buses operated between Trzebnica and Pasikurowice. Rail service on this section will resume on 1 September.
Due to increased demand for transporting students studying in Wrocław, the ŻAK train on the Jelcz Laskowice–Bolesławiec route will begin operating on Fridays from 4 September, with an additional service on 31 October instead of 1 November.
On 1 September, a new request stop, Strzelce Świdnickie, located between Sobótka Zachodnia and Szczepanów, will begin operating. In addition, Pszenno will become a request stop.
Holiday trains will return only next season
With the end of the holiday season, the KD Premium Nadmorski train from Wrocław to Świnoujście will stop operating. The last train on this route will depart towards the capital of Lower Silesia on Sunday, 1 September. This highly popular connection will return to the Koleje Dolnośląskie timetable in June 2025. Another seasonal connection, from Wrocław to the Czech town of Adrspach, is also being removed from the timetable. We will be able to travel to Skalné město by the yellow-and-white train again in April 2025.
– Timetable adjustments for all carriers in the country are introduced several times a year. The vast majority of our passengers are prepared for them, but as usual, we ask everyone to check the timetable carefully after 1 September so that the changes do not disrupt their journey – reminds Bartłomiej Rodak, press spokesperson for Koleje Dolnośląskie.
The timetable incorporating the September adjustment can be found under TIMETABLES AND TICKETS.
