On August 28, elections for the village head and village council of Trzebień near Bolesławiec were scheduled. Turnout was high because residents wanted change.

“Officials arrived at the election without lists for most eligible voters and without a sufficient number of ballots,” one woman who wanted to take part in the vote told us.

According to our information, there was no voter list for residents of Leśna and Świerkowa Streets, meaning almost two-thirds of Trzebień’s residents.

The election was suspended, and residents must prepare for another vote.

This is the first such major blunder by officials under the new head of Bolesławiec municipality, Andrzej Janiec.
