During the second session of the County Council’s fourth term, held on Thursday, December 16, Józef Król, chairman of the Forum caucus, submitted a motion to consider arranging online broadcasts of Council meetings. “We will consider the matter,” announced Cezary Przybylski, Bolesławiec County head. “However, quick calculations show that we would have to spend approximately PLN 70,000 on this.”
The county head explained that preparing such a broadcast would require, among other things, a very good camera and a reliable server. “Please do not take this as a personal dig, but when we watched broadcasts of City Council meetings, we decided that we would not want ours to look like that. The picture and sound keep cutting out because no investment was made in a camera, appropriate software or a connection with sufficient speed.”
Przybylski also added that once online broadcasts began, County Council sessions would become considerably longer, as councillors would be more eager to speak. “But perhaps the quality of the proceedings will improve,” Józef Król added.
We will return to the matter.
