The ceremony marking the completion of the EU-funded “Training – Practice – Employment – Development” project, carried out since May this year, was held on 21 December at the Bolesławiec Voluntary Labour Corps headquarters. Among those attending the ceremony were Dariusz Kwaśniewski, a member of the Bolesławiec County Board, Jacek Jurkiewicz, director of the Construction School Complex, Małgorzata Dłużyk, director of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre, and Anna Zug, head of the Career Information and Planning Centre.

“The aim of the initiative was the social and professional activation of young people aged 15–24 and the compensation of their social and educational deficits. In accordance with the EU equal opportunities policy, we adopted the principle that women would account for 60% of the project participants and men for 40%,” says Jacek Nesler, commandant of the Bolesławiec Voluntary Labour Corps and project coordinator.

As part of “Training – Practice – Employment – Development”, participants took part in sessions with psychologists and career counsellors, as well as language, computer and vocational courses. During Tuesday’s ceremony, the project participants received certificates and gifts.
