On the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, Lower Silesian Voivode Maciej Awiżeń invites viewers to watch an interview with a man who fought for our freedom. Warsaw Uprising insurgent Captain Stanisław Wołczaski recounts his fight in the Uprising. He was motivated to act by the desire to achieve freedom. As he emphasizes, freedom was the most important thing:
– What the Germans did to us was terrible. The desire for freedom, freedom, freedom. After all, on August 1, when the Uprising broke out at 5:00 p.m., we interpreted it as: outbreak, fight, freedom, Warsaw (...). The enthusiasm was incredible (...). Freedom, freedom, freedom, freedom, after five years of truly terrible captivity – recalls Stanisław Wołczaski.
