Officers of the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław, assisted by a service dog and police officers from the Drug Crime Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters (KWP) in Radom, the KWP in Łódź, the Investigative Department of the Masovian KWP, the Criminal Department of the County Police Headquarters (KPP) in Opoczno and the KPP in Zgorzelec, discovered and secured sports bags containing 40 kg of marijuana while inspecting the trailer of the lorry. The black-market value of the seized drugs was nearly PLN 2 million.

The 51-year-old vehicle driver was remanded in custody for three months. For attempting to smuggle such an amount of drugs, the man faces up to 20 years in prison. The proceedings are being conducted by the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec.
