The modernization of the municipal stadium on Spółdzielcza Street in Bolesławiec is under way. Grass sown recently is already growing in the area designated for the pitch. The grass is watered by an automatic irrigation system, elements of which are located in the central part of the pitch and around its perimeter. This will ensure that the entire pitch is irrigated evenly.
Once the system has finished operating, its components retract into the turf.
In the sped-up video below, you can see how the irrigation system works.
The first stage of the modernization of the Bolesławiec stadium is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2024. The construction of stands is planned for the second stage of the modernization.
The covered stands will be located on the Spółdzielcza Street side. They will accommodate approximately 900 people. The first matches at Spółdzielcza will be able to take place in 2025. It is not certain whether this will already be possible in spring or only in autumn.
As for the athletics section of the stadium, it will be possible to hold official competitions there under the auspices of the Polish Athletics Association. The circular athletics track is 400 m long (6 circular lanes, 8 straight lanes).
The athletics section will include: two high-jump runways, two two-lane long-jump and triple-jump runways, a two-sided pole-vault runway, two javelin-throw areas, a discus- and hammer-throw area, two shot-put areas, and a water jump for steeplechase events.
