Gravel Adventure is a picturesque event that was first included among UCI Gravel races in 2022. The event will be held in Jakuszyce for the third time, with the route running along gravel roads in the scenic Izera Mountains.
Mountain biking fans are looking forward to this event, and this year's route changes promise to be particularly interesting for the competitors.
The most important news is that the start and finish will be moved to Jakuszyce, on the other side of the ski slope. Until now, cyclists competed on a loop laid out in 2022 and 2023, but the organizers have now decided to refresh the route.
After starting from the parking lot in front of Hotel Biathlon Sport and Spa in Jakuszyce, the competitors will enter a 10-kilometer loop. They will initially follow a road section, followed by a gravel climb with an average gradient of 6.6% and a length of 2.6 km. Only after passing the start line will the cyclists enter the main, 52-kilometer loop on the northern side of the road connecting Szklarska Poręba and Świeradów Zdrój.
The route will also include a section previously used between kilometers 19 and 21, but in the opposite direction. The highlight will be a long, 7.7-kilometer asphalt climb—the toughest challenge of the day. The final 6 km will be identical to the initial section of the route.
It is worth emphasizing that 74% of the route is gravel, while only 26% is asphalt. This will certainly make the race even more spectacular and demanding for the competitors.
The race is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. and finish at 6:00 p.m.
