“Nobody will see us; there’s no chance of that” – said a priest in the first film we published in December 2023. The priest arranged to meet a young man through a dating website and invited him over for a romantic encounter with a finale. The only thing he worried about after the film was published was that the matter would die down, because he was responsible for... children preparing for their First Communion. Yes, this priest was preparing your children for the sacrament of First Communion.
Priests who actively meet with young men, sometimes offering money for such encounters, feel immune from consequences. The faithful prefer to turn a blind eye to the hypocrisy and deceit of their priests. On the one hand, according to the Church, homosexual people are a “rainbow plague”; on the other, homosexual people hold even the highest positions in the Church and do not concern themselves with celibacy at all.
Fortunately, there are fewer and fewer people who remain silent in the name of a false defense of priests. We spoke with several dozen male and female informants. Observing what priests get up to when they take off their cassocks, they clearly felt that such pastors profane their faith and destroy their attachment to the Church.
We can agree with the statement that people do not go to church for the priest, but for God or for their own need for a spiritual experience. But in the Catholic Church, it is strongly emphasized that a priest is an intermediary between God and people. Through priestly ordination, priests, as the Church claims, share in a special way in Christ’s priesthood, exercising sacramental ministry in His name.
Some write that they do not care what a priest does in his free time. This raises the question: what should a priest’s private life and free time look like? Should they involve encounters intended to satisfy a sexual urge that cannot be fulfilled in celibacy? With both women and men? Visits to sex workers, using dating websites for gay men, trips with younger boys to Thailand, Italy, Egypt or Majorca? Is this what a priest’s so-called private life should look like?
And how does this relate to the sermons delivered during Mass, calling on the faithful to live with honesty, dignity and purity? One of our informants stressed in a conversation with us that he has to confess even a thought that crossed his mind when he admired a woman in a summer dress and her exposed charms. Yet the priest hearing his confession may have done things that would never even occur to him. Is that fair to people? And is it right?
Finally, there is the question of the Three Monkeys, who know nothing, see nothing and say nothing. The question concerns the lack of reaction from the bishops of the Diocese of Legnica: the diocesan bishop, Rev. Andrzej Siemieniewski, auxiliary bishop Rev. Piotr Wawrzynek and senior bishop Rev. Zbigniew Kiernikowski?
The faithful wrote to them and traveled to meet them; they appealed to them and informed them about what was happening in the parishes of the Diocese of Legnica. They are the ones who could make changes for the better. Why do they support priests who do not deserve support while removing those who are liked by parishioners? They may learn the answer to that question in hell, because according to the religion they profess, the mute, blind and deaf bishops will probably end up there.

We appeal to you urgently for financial support for the editorial team of the istotne.pl portal. Every złoty counts. As independent journalists, we boldly take on difficult and uncomfortable topics, exposing hypocrisy and abuse among representatives of the Catholic Church. Our work is not only journalism – it is a fight for truth, justice and transparency, which are often lacking in Polish society.
In December 2023, we published a film documenting the shocking story of one of the priests and a young man. Unfortunately, since its publication, we have become the target of four lawsuits. These lawsuits are an attempt to silence us, shut us up and halt our work. The Church and its representatives stop at nothing to defend their interests, and we need your support to continue our mission.
The funds raised will be used for the legal defense of our journalists and for further work on materials exposing wrongdoing and abuse in the Catholic Church. Every złoty is enormously important – it enables us to stand up to powerful opponents and continue our independent journalism.
We believe that together we can fight for justice and truth. We believe that with your support we will be able to repel attacks and continue carrying out our mission. Please help us in this fight – the fight for a better, more transparent society.
