Christmas is a time of reconciliation and closeness between people – and that was also the case during another Tradition Evening, held on Sunday, 12 December, in Łaziska near Bolesławiec. The event was attended, among others, by the Bolesławiec County executive Cezary Przybylski, Bolesławiec Commune head Andrzej Dutkowski, County Councilor Kazimierz Gawron, Rev. Ludwik Maciak, headteacher of the Primary School in Kruszyn Beata Domerecka, commander of the Kruszyn police station Grzegorz Janiec, GOKiS director Janusz Cieśla, and Commune Councilors: Grażyna Łucka, Bogusław Uziej, Leszek Berny and Andrzej Szwedo.
The art group supervised by Krystyna Grela prepared Christmas tree decorations. Under the watchful eye of the local Rural Housewives’ Association members, the children shaped cookies and made cabbage-and-mushroom pierogi. Meanwhile, a carol-singing workshop was led by Franciszek Uściński, supported by the Singing Ensemble from Żeliszów.
The evening’s participants were also entertained by Leszek Berny, a councilor from Kraszowice, residents of the Youth County Sociotherapy Center in Iwiny, and children from Łaziska. There was poetry as well. Everyone gathered at the Folk House heard the poem “At the Christmas Eve Table,” performed by Sylwia Konik.
The Tradition Evening was organized by the Rural Housewives’ Association in Łaziska, councilor Grażyna Łucka, village head Joanna Łucka, and the Bolesławiec Commune Culture and Sports Center, based in Kruszyn.
