This anniversary exhibition aims to showcase the richness and diversity of the work of artists from Poland and abroad who took part in symposiums organised in Bolesławiec over the decades.

The exhibitions will feature works by contemporary masters of ceramics, including both acclaimed names and young, promising artists. The exhibition encompasses a broad range of styles and techniques, from traditional ceramic forms to modern sculptures and installations that repeatedly push beyond the conventional boundaries of ceramics.

The exhibition at BOK – MCC has been divided into three sections. The ground floor presents the oldest collections, dating from 1984 through the 39th International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium. The foyer on the first floor features works from the 40th to the 49th editions of the symposium. The second floor presents contemporary works created over the past 10 years.

The monumental works displayed in the gardens of BOK – MCC, created specifically for the symposiums, have become an integral part of Bolesławiec’s landscape. The sculptures document the evolution of artistic techniques and styles over the last six decades.

For this major event, we invited the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec to collaborate with us; its collections also include a representative collection of ceramic works created during the symposiums. The gallery prepared at the museum’s new location (28/29 Zgorzelecka Street) presents 34 works by outstanding artists who took part in the symposiums, from their Lower Silesian editions, through national editions, to the international ones. The sculptures were created between 1979 and 2004. The exhibition is accompanied by multimedia presentations offering a concise overview of the history of the symposiums, as well as the profiles and work of individual artists.

We invite all art lovers and connoisseurs of clay masterpieces, as well as enthusiasts of ceramic treasures.

You will see the true cultural heritage of the city of ceramics.

We are celebrating the rich history of the International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium, which over the years has charted paths of artistic development for students of this challenging yet highly attractive and rewarding field of art.

The exhibitions can be visited from 2 July 2024 during the opening hours of both institutions.
