The students recited poems by Polish and foreign poets. Aleksandra Górna took first place. Łukasz Ludwikowski came second, while third place was shared by two students: Paula Cieślak and Justyna Wilas.
The jury also decided to award honorable mentions. They went to Anna Kalita, Paweł Kalita, Tomasz Gala, Karolina Kozłowska and Sylwia Stachowska. The audience award went to Paulina Wereszczuk. The winners will represent the school in the Municipal Recitation Competition.
The contestants were prepared by Polish-language teachers: Wioletta Chlastawa, Małgorzata Giedroyć-Sypień, Małgorzata Niewiarowska and Joanna Tomaszewska, as well as Katarzyna Syguła-Wieczorek, supervisor of the Creative Expression Studio, who was also the competition organizer.
The jury consisted of Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz, an instructor and theater director (MDK); Józefa Witas, a cultural animator; and Irena Kołodyńska, deputy head of Municipal Lower Secondary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec.
The competition prizes were funded by the owners of the “Agora” bookshop, Józefa and Marek Witas. The event was enhanced by a school vocal ensemble led by Joanna Krajewska.
