On June 24, a group of 34 students from Primary Schools No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5, Oxpress and the Piarist school—accompanied by teachers—set off on a trip to Strasbourg.

City Hall: – The students are staying at the European Youth Centre. During their stay, they will tour the Council of Europe building with a guide, where they will learn about the Council of Europe’s functioning, missions and achievements; meet Danuta Jazłowiecka, a member of the Parliamentary Assembly; Danuta Jazłowiecka; observe a session of the Parliamentary Assembly and have lunch with Christan Petry, chair of the Subcommittee on the Europe Prize. In the afternoon, they will tour the European Parliament.

It is worth recalling that Bolesławiec won the “Europe Prize 2023.” The prize is awarded annually by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to one city that promotes the idea of a united Europe most effectively. Along with the traveling statuette, Bolesławiec received a medal, a letter of recognition and a check for €20,000 intended to fund a study trip to European institutions for young people from the winning city.

The second group of young people from Bolesławiec is currently in Strasbourg. The first group’s study trip took place in January this year. The students selected by their schools can boast outstanding academic results and other achievements, as well as very good knowledge of English.
