In Bolesławiec, there is a well-known dispute over the event and the rights to organize it under the name Gliniada. The event featuring painted figures had borne that name since it was first held in Bolesławiec, in 2007. More about the dispute in the article: Bolesławiec restaurateur loses case before copyright court.
In 2015, Bogusław Nowak organized a procession of black figures as a sign of protest because the municipal authorities had not bought the event from him for 40,000 złoty. He had taken it over from the Via Sudetica association in 2014. During the procession held as part of the Festival of Ceramics, an effigy of President Piotr Roman sitting on a toilet was presented. We wrote about it in the article: He did not want 15,000 for a white Gliniada, so he gave the city a black one for free! In 2024, the mayor reached an agreement with Nowak that up to 100,000 złoty from municipal funds would be spent on his event. Nowak agreed to that amount and called the event Teatr Glina Da.
