Fine weather encourages cycling trips. Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters: – Not everyone remembers, however, that after drinking alcohol, it is forbidden to ride a bicycle anywhere where road traffic regulations apply.
Recently, police officers detained five cyclists under the influence of alcohol in Bolesławiec County. The officers report:
A 42-year-old man riding a bicycle was detained in Warta Bolesławiecka commune. Two others, aged 35 and 41, were riding bicycles in Gromadka commune. The remaining cyclists were detained in Bolesławiec; they were men aged 23 and 52.
And they sum up: – All of them were fined: two received fines of PLN 1,000 because they had consumed alcohol. Meanwhile, three men who rode bicycles while intoxicated received fines of PLN 2,500.
Police officers remind people that it is forbidden to get behind the wheel of both a car and a bicycle after drinking alcohol.
