Update
As reported by the Bolesławiec police, the car was being driven by an 18-year-old from Bolesławiec County, who was driving after consuming alcohol.
The teenager was taken to hospital, but fortunately he did not suffer any more serious injuries.
The truck driver emerged from the incident unhurt.
The incident took place on 22 May.
(…) at 9:29 p.m., we were dispatched to a road incident on the 73rd kilometre of the A18 toward Olszyna.
They added: – Upon arrival, it was established that a passenger car had hit the barriers separating the traffic lanes. Following the impact, one of the chassis components struck the windshield of a truck travelling in the opposite direction.
They concluded: – Our tasks were to secure the scene, provide first aid to the injured person, disconnect the battery and absorb the petroleum-based spill.
Police are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident.
