Since that year, two blocks on Spółdzielcza Street have been struggling with pharaoh ants in their apartments. The worst situation is in stairwells 11 to 14.

She added: – Bolesławianka Housing Cooperative does not respond to residents’ complaints, and there are lots of them! They claim they have spent too much money repairing the stairs. And they do not understand that the ants are everywhere! It’s impossible to live like this…

Beata Ślęzak, president of Bolesławianka Housing Cooperative:

(...) Bolesławianka Housing Cooperative informs us that no reports concerning a “plague of ants” in the building at 11–14 Spółdzielcza Street have been submitted to the administration office. Disinsection in the building at 7–10 Spółdzielcza Street was carried out on 21 October 2023. Since then, there have been no further reports.

When reports are received, the Cooperative commissions an authorised company to carry out disinsection in the building’s common areas: stairwells, basements, the drainage strip around the building, etc. However, disinsection of apartments, including the costs, remains the responsibility of the occupants. Disinsection can be carried out within several days of the report, and for it to be effective, it should be carried out simultaneously in the common areas and in all apartments.

She further explained: – At the same time, we inform you that expenditure on repairing the stairs is in no way related to the possible disinsection of the building.
