Piotr Roman, mentioning at the last session of the Bolesławiec City Council of this term that a roundabout is to be built at the dangerous Dolne Młyny–Wróblewskiego intersection, also mentioned another collision-prone junction:
As for the intersection of Modłowa and Cieszkowskiego streets, it is currently not possible to build a roundabout there—primarily because of the double railway tracks.
What can be done?
The mayor:
The first step will be for us to make Polna Street one-way between the railway crossing and Cieszkowskiego Street; in other words, it will not be possible to enter from the bypass side, but it will be possible to leave. It simply has to be done this way because there is no other solution for now.
He added: – The next stage will be either traffic lights or, if we manage to acquire certain plots of land, the construction of a roundabout, but one located a little farther away. This would also make it easier to leave the County Police Headquarters safely, because currently the exit from the police station is not very good either.
