Since I know that my columns are also read in the district where I stood in the county council elections and where I have just suffered an electoral defeat (if winning 239 votes can be called a defeat), I would like, at this very moment, to thank very, very warmly via this electronic medium all those who (once again) cast their vote for me. My friends, wonderful parents and former students from Iwiny, Lubków, Tomaszów, Szczytnica and a few other places. All those who not only voted for me but also tried to persuade others to do so. I also thank those who voted for me for the first time. During my campaign I met several great, interesting people (including some from Łaziska) – I warmly greet them now! Finally—with a heavy heart, but nevertheless—I thank those who did not vote for me (mainly from Iwiny and Lubków). After all, I myself encouraged you to go and vote. You listened, went to the polls and voted for someone else. And I do not hold it against you. This is precisely what democracy is. I only wish that in 3–4 years you will still be just as satisfied with your choice as you are today.

As for me, I do not yet know what I will be doing in the near future. I certainly will not sit around doing nothing. Those who know me know that this is impossible.

The past few days have not been particularly pleasant for me, which is understandable, but one matter consistently kept my spirits up. They are just finishing the removal of the contents of the so-called burial sites in Iwiny (istotne.pl/a5459.php). It turned out that there were more various poisonous substances there than anyone had expected (nearly 100 tonnes!) and that they certainly had not been properly secured. The extraction of this filth from the ground is accompanied by a very unpleasant smell, which should be understandable to anyone who knows what had lain there for years. And it was precisely in this connection that I heard an opinion, spread by a few “well-wishers”, that all this stench was… my fault. Yes, yes—the former councillor, as he now is, got it into his head to disturb the filth that had been “sitting” peacefully in the ground for 35 years.

Well, dear residents, I assure you: just a few more days—the poison will be taken away, the unpleasant smell will stop bothering you, and only some of those who repeated these utter absurdities will feel a little ashamed… Or perhaps not.

And what matters most to me is that our children and grandchildren will have uncontaminated soil and clean water. I wholeheartedly wish this both for myself and for you!
