As we read in the statement from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office, which reached us just a few minutes ago:

At the request of the Lower Silesian Voivode, Maciej Awiżeń, Prime Minister Donald Tusk decided to dismiss Mr. Jacek Protasiewicz from the position of Second Lower Silesian Deputy Voivode.

The Press Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office explains:

The Lower Silesian Voivode requested the dismissal of the Second Deputy Voivode pursuant to Article 7(2) of the Act on the Voivode and Government Administration in the Voivodeship (Journal of Laws of 2003, item 190).

The request was submitted through the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

Mr. Jacek Protasiewicz’s statements posted online were his private opinions and in no way represented the position of the Lower Silesian Voivode.

The matter concerns tweets on the X platform (formerly Twitter). As rmf24.pl reports:

It was not, however, Jacek Protasiewicz’s political activity that caused a considerable stir online this weekend, but rather his posts on the X platform. The Lower Silesian deputy voivode became involved in crude discussions with, among others, PiS activist Oskar Szafarowicz, some journalists, and politicians from across the political spectrum. He mocked some of them and alluded to the appearance or addictions of others. Protasiewicz later deleted some of the posts.
